it was a humiliating and challenging journey, learning to stock food and water that he could get to and having to learn to use a toilet as a cat. And his computer too.
But that wasn't right now, right now he was working on his computer as a human being sitting at a table outside at a cafe. He was sipping coffee and reading an article about The Oracle, the gorgeous woman who saved the city from various monsters and daemons that might attack it. He had been a fan of her for a long time but he wanted to know who she was, who she really was. And also he was working on a game based on her. It was his pet project but his supervisor knew about it and approved. Their game would be a best seller.
He sat casually, ignoring people in case he get any ideas about a cute girl or something. This was unlike him, he didn't normally go out in public and stay out like this. It was too risky with his problem. He didn't want to turn into a cat in front of others. All around him everyone was going on about the latest monster that the oracle took care of. Her heroic photos were all over the web. He smiled as he looked at her. She was pretty.... shit shit, better close that up. Better get back to work. Coding, ones and zeros... yes, plain stuff. Easy things. Neutral....

Well, she didn't turn into a cat if conversation got her thinking too strongly about certain things so he knew she was okay by comparison to him. She was lovely though... her voice was gorgeous too, he found himself a bit disappointed when she stopped talking.
"Huh? Oh ok... well I am gonna get some. Save my seat." he disappeared and returned a few minutes later with two strawberry danishes. "They were on sale if you got two." technically true but he bought her one anyway. He just wouldn't pressure her to eat it. He liked these kinds. He sat back down and saw her playing on her phone. Maybe she didn't want to be bothered but he kept staring at her. She was remarkably beautiful but he knew her from somewhere...
"I hate to say this but... you seem familiar. We've met before, haven't we?" he kept staring trying to get it to come to him and he furrowed his brow.
"I do know you. I do..." but it could be from anywhere, maybe she attended the conventions his game company was at and she came by their booth. Most of his familiar faces were from just that example.
"Sorry, don't mean to be a creep. My name is Noctis. I'm working on some gaming codes right now and waiting this rain out. I didn't bring a case for my computer like a moron. So now I just have an excuse to take up your table and eat pastries." please say something back pretty lady.... shit shit. No. Focus Noctis.... focus, don't think about her like that. Don't think about it.

Date: 2017-06-26 05:37 am (UTC)"Certainly, no worries." She watches him leave, and peers back down at her phone again. But then he's back, and he's got two pastries and that's just... really sweet, sale or not. She flashes him another smile, this one a little more sheepish than the last. "Thank you very much, you are far too kind."
She can feel his gaze on her still, though, and she has to keep herself from blushing by thinking of kicked kittens and dead puppies and other various depressing issues. His voice brings her out of her thoughts, though, and she finds herself looking up at him again. Her heart nearly stops at his words... he's got a good memory.
She saved him six or seven months back, after all, during a daemon attack. Granted, he doesn't know that was her, and she's not going to tell him that, but the fact that he seems to vaguely recognize her says something. That evening... after she'd slayed the daemon, she hadn't said anything to him. Just turned to make sure he was alright, healed his injuries. Smiled, and left once she knew he wasn't bleeding to death. There had been something about him... she hadn't been able to get him off of her mind. And she still can't.
"Oh... well, I come here often. You must have just seen me in passing." That sounds like a good enough excuse. She hopes so, at least. His words have her smile widening, however. She already knows his name, she's done her homework on him because she really likes him and she... is the creep, not him.
"Pleased to meet you, Noctis. My name is Lunafreya. Gaming codes, hm? You must be very intelligent to be able to figure out all of those numbers." She giggles, finally taking a sip of her coffee. "I don't mind though, really. You may take up my table and eat pastries whenever you feel like it."
She hopes that doesn't sound too forward or weird, and so she focuses on the rest of what he'd said. "But you are hardly a moron. The weather did not call for rain, how were you to know? I didn't exactly prepare either.... hence why it will be a very long, wet walk home."

Date: 2017-06-29 04:18 am (UTC)If he knew her thoughts he'd be blushing but lucky for him he's thinking the same thing about her. She's radiant, gorgeous, she's so soft and so blonde and curvy in just the right ways. She looks both gentle and strong, her voice was the perfect timbre and he just can't put words to it, this perfection before him. All the little ways she pleases him.
That's why he needs to get up and walk away before he says something stupid to her. He needs the break in the line while he thinks about how to talk to a beautiful pseudo-stranger he was trying to remeber. Then he is back at the table with the pastries.
"No no, not at all. Help yourself, I got it for you if you want it, as thanks for letting me commandeer this table." he tries to minimize the space he's taking up with his laptop. "And are you sure? I could have sworn..." he studies her face for a bit before he shrugs. "Guess you're right but I could swear I know you from something... more than that."
He perks up at the opportunity to talk about his game work. He smiles "Yeah I'm making a new game for my company, you wanna know a secret? It's about The Oracle. I know it's cliche but no one else ever made a game of her and I... I love her." he smiled warmly thinking about it. The Oracle... he has a thing for his beautiful savior.
"Huh? No no you gotta stay here, I'll let you play on my computer, the rain will drench you if you go out there. Or better yet... yeah, you play on my laptop, I can run across the street and get an umbrella. That'll be my thanks for you letting me sit here." and another break for him away from his lovely table mate. Gotta calm down before he goes feline.

Date: 2017-06-29 06:59 am (UTC)"Thank you very much... as it would happen, I didn't have time to eat today, so this is very much appreciated. Thank you." She smiles and takes the offered pastry. Strawberry is her favorite thing ever -- put that fruit in anything and she'll eat it. It's even sweeter than the man she's fallen completely head over heels for bought it for her. "I'm positive... really, I'm a nobody that just frequents this place for their coffee."
She nearly chokes on her coffee at his next words, though, but manages to hide the sound by taking a huge gulp of the still piping hot liquid. He's... he's in love with her? Well... technically, not her The Oracle. She's heard that from a lot of people, just empty words really, but Noctis seems dedicated, especially so because he's gone so far as to make a game.
"That sounds wonderful... I'm sure it will be a huge success," she begins with a smile. "You love her, though? Really? I'll bet she'd be glad to hear you say that. Anyone with half a brain would be happy to hear such a handsome, kind man confess such strong feelings for them." Because her heart is about to pound out of her chest... but she reminds herself, again. He's in love with the Oracle, not her.
"I couldn't let you do that, silly... besides, you've already done enough for me. You bought me this yummy pastry, remember?" She blinks up at him. "Really, I don't mind! It's nice to have such pleasant company. You need not blow off any money on me... erm, anymore than you already have, at least."
