It wasn't exactly what the weather called for. Dark storm clouds were on the horizon in Old Lestallum. It was supposed to be nice and sunny so they could get photos of the expo happening here but the storm coming in was making for a nice set of shots too. It took a keen eye and a trained hand to get the play of light in the foreground and darkness looming beyond.

Professor Petridis stood behind Prompto on the balcony of their hotel room. Their room. The photography expo was such that they were lucky to get this room, or that is what he'd explained to Prompto. He was his star student and he wanted him to get to know people here at the event and he wanted to get to know him better himself. Right now they were practicing wide shots trying to capture the distant weather system.

Petridis's hands positioned Prompto's arms just so. "Here, like this. yes... wait." he tilted Prompto's shoulders, straightened his back. "Try now." he waited for the shot. "Good, now try another angle." he manipulated his student some more, getting expert shots in no time. Prompto would be able to make a statement portfolio out of those. Even when they'd taken more than enough photos he didn't let go right away. He looked over his protege's shoulder at the camera and disected the shots with him.

"That's good... that one is excellent. That one can go. This one has good framing but this one is worthy of being your portfolio cover." he went on about each one as his hands moved from the camera to Prompto's shirt. A cool breeze ruffled it as he undid a few buttons and slid his hand inside.

"Can you smell that rain coming?" his thumb passed over Prompto's nipple. "We better get inside and close the doors."

Prompto would be lying if he said he wasn't at least a little suspicious of his professor's intentions. After so many unfortunate run ins with Alpha who couldn't control themselves, who saw Omega as just something they were allowed to take, he shouldn't be surprised.

But it still stung.

Petridis had been someone he looked up to, someone who knew the ropes of photography, who knew how to get a foot in the door, and knew how to get his work seen. He'd taken special interest in Prompto, and Prompto, like a fool, thought it had anything at all to do with his abilities as a photographer. He'd worked his ass off on extra credits, pushed himself to the limit to get the perfect shots, and refined his craft in every way he could think to.

His professor had seen what he thought was promise in Prompto's work, and invited him to sit in on his other classes, to gain more experience, to get his work seen, even if it meant hauling equipment, setting up lights, and doing all the grunt work. He didn't mind doing his share of work.

It'd all seemed okay. This was a teacher, someone he was supposed to look up to, and someone who held his future in his... apparently lecherous hands. Prompto had stiffened slightly as Petridis helped him get the shot, telling himself he was just over-reacting, but as those hands moved to caress his body, to pull him back toward the crisp sheets of the hotel room, it became more and more obvious his true intent.

Prompto let out a little gasp, his thin chest moving up and down under that heavy hand, heart beating rabbit-fast.

"Professor?" he hated how his voice cracked, and his body seemed to invite this sort of attention. He put up his hands and tried to turn, to put some distance between them.

"I... I'm sorry if I made you think..." he tried to explain, wondering if there was any non-awkward way out of this.

It took moments for things to click into place, and even so, he still hadn't realized just how trapped he was, how many cards the man he'd come to respect as his teacher now held, nor how well thought out his plan for this weekend was. He stumbled slightly as he was pulled inside, thoughts stormy with confusion and disappointment.

The praise that followed would have been nice if it didn't feel so empty. How could he trust anything Petridis said, knowing he wanted much more than to cultivate a talented youth. He spoke about Prompto's future like a promise, an offer, a gift, but there was a price, much higher than he'd ever expected. And the refusal of that gift... was there a threat in that too?

He opened his mouth, but he didn't know what to say, didn't know how to react. How could he be expected to make a decision that could shatter his fragile future in a matter of seconds?

The touch came soon after, not giving him time to process, time to think, to talk his way out, to think of a way to shift this to other topics with a nervous laugh and a smile that had always been such a good defense. His breath hitched again, and his muddied thoughts made it so hard to do much but stand there and let it happen. Not only was this man an authority, a teacher, he was also an alpha, and all weighed heavy on his mind to comply, to submit, to make himself useful.

It left a bitter taste in his mouth and his foot stumbled backward, hitting the edge of the bed as he shook his head minutely. At least his camera was safe, set carefully out of the way.

"That's... that's very kind of you sir," he swallowed hard, wishing he could put more space between them. He didn't think any of what Petridis did now was kind or done with anything like concern, "But... I've already been claimed. I can't..."

If the man couldn't respect Prompto as a student, as an Omega, as a human being, perhaps his own Alpha's territory might gain a bit more sway. He had to know, was he really so brazen as to chase after something that belonged to the prince?

The sudden change had Prompto blinking in surprise. Had Professor Petridis really been okay with his answer? He felt a bit bad for misjudging him, but it wasn't every day an Alpha actually listened to the word, "no," especially when it came though as convoluted and weak as his had been.

He had his doubts, but he followed along, and as the day progressed, his behavior remained the same as he'd always been in class. Friendly, outgoing, easy to get along with. It wasn't long before Prompto was smiling along, the praise from strangers who had seen his work helping his damaged ego. By the end of the day he had more business cards and offers than he knew what to do with, and he joined Petridis at the after-party with enthusiasm and high spirits.

Prompto really only drank around Noct, where he knew he was safe, but it was hard to say no, especially to all these new smiling faces as they offered him drink after drink. The first was always the hardest to get down, but he could feel the tension ebb away with each shot, until laughs came easy and the room felt like a dizzying sea of bright lights and dazzling faces.

He was a small man, and it didn't take much before he'd lost count of how many drinks had passed his lips. Far more than he could remember, but his mind readily supplied that it was fine, Noct always watched out for him when he'd had a few drinks. He barely remembered the walk back to the hotel room, leaning heavily on a pair of strong arms as he stumbled in.

The bed was soft and Prompto was ready to just sink in and let sleep take him, but hands were roving over his clothes, and oh, right, he was still in his nice party wear. They were stuffy and his skin was already overly-warm with the buzz of alcohol, a faint pinkness to his color, like a light blush. He slid out of his shoes and socks, letting them fall haphazardly to the ground. His vest was already unbuttoned, though he didn't remember doing it, and it took a moment for his eyes to focus on the hands that worked each button of his shirt open next.

He was used to sleeping in very little, if anything. Noct always liked to cuddle skin-to-skin, so he rarely wore more than an oversized shirt to sleep in. Prompto missed him bitterly while he was away, but their areas of study were too different, and Noct always encouraged him to chase his dreams.

It was something of a relief as the shirt slid down his shoulders, bathing his skin in the cool air. Much better. He let out a short giggle before he leaned back against the bed, body splayed out in disarray, eyes half-lidded. It would be so easy to just drift off to sleep.

"This was really fun," he admitted, not really talking to anyone but himself. He spoke a little dreamily, still unable to believe it, "they really liked me, huh?"
